I know you're gonna ask where have I been, not testing any Mac products or blogging about them. Now I was at the Mac store for the very first time in my life (August 2015, because well, I usually resist using high-end products :-P) and was looking for a matte lipstick. I have heard great reviews about Mac lipsticks and I thought I should splurge once in a while and get this over with, prove if it is really truly worth it. The salesman highly recommended the shade Please Me when I asked for a wearable matte nude pink. And I am telling you this shade? IT’S THE BOMB! It suits any eyeshadow you use – whether nude, smokey, purple, blue, or any rave party color. It tones down the lips when you are rocking the heavy eye makeup but it also brings out the nice soft hues when you decide to go for the nudes and browns. It basically blends with whatever look – party or corporate – and that to me is just a stellar color! So each time I have a client meeting or an event, I would tend to use this because I am sure I will look good. I also get a lot of comments on the shade every time I use this. People would usually compliment me on the overall makeup or ask about the lip color. In my opinion, the reason why I get compliments on the full makeup is because Mac Matte Lipstick in Please Me just perfects every look and adds a lot of good effect in every color combination I create for my eyes and cheeks. I did test it for a week of practically the same eye makeup with different lipsticks and when I use Please Me, it just gets the nicest reactions every time compared to the other shades.
I really thought Mac lipsticks were just elite stuff, but using one product that actually blends with anything and can be used with a daytime or a nighttime look? Wow. The formula is also non-drying, it adds a lot of good creamy moisture on the lips while still keeping it matte. I really have only good things to say about this product and to be honest, I have put blogging about this on hold for a long time because I feel like I may not do it any justice with how I describe it.
I would recommend you to try at least one matte lipstick from Mac in the shade that you will tend to use more frequently so that you don’t feel bad about the PhP1,000 splurge on just one lipstick tube (I bought it at SM Makati) and I believe you will not regret it.
Hats off, this is the best matte lipstick I have ever used so far. It gets into the creases of your lips but does not give you a dry look. Sort of embedding itself but leveling the creases on the lips as well. It actually looks buttery yet has a matte finish. If you will use it for 8 straight hours it can be dry by then, but not annoying. I would classify it as long wearing because I also used it at the gym and it stayed on, though a bit faded.
One thing you should understand is that this matte lipstick comes on creamy but glides like butter. It is not a thin finish or a light formula. It can feel a bit thick, but because it is creamy and does not dry the lips for less than 8 hours of application, you wouldn't feel annoyed with it.

I really love Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in the shade 08 but after using Mac Matte in Please me, Rimmel Kate Moss now comes second fiddle. I still love Rimmel, don’t get me wrong. But overall, the one and only Mac Matte lipstick I purchased just blew me away, blew me away and continues to give me lots of good compliments J
So if you ever want to try Mac for the first time, go get their matte lipstick! Ask for Please Me …and you will surely get what you asked for!
